While undeniably luxurious, black pool tile present unique considerations, primarily heat absorption and maintenance. Though black tiles absorb more UV rays, the constant presence of water in a pool generally mitigates excessive heat. The primary concern we address at AquaBlu is the visibility of efflorescence. Like a black car, black pool tiles readily reveal mineral buildup. To prevent this, proper installation is crucial. We recommend robust waterproofing with products like Basecrete, and the use of non-porous, epoxy-based thin-set and grout, such as Litoelastic and Litokol Starlike Evo epoxy grout, respectively.
