A concrete base is recommended for high-traffic areas requiring maximum stability and durability. A crushed gravel and sand bed offers an alternative for lighter-use areas, providing better drainage and easier adjustments. For pool deck installations, our AquaPRO specialists consistently recommend mortaring 2cm pavers and coordinating coping directly to a concrete slab for optimal results. A third option is setting 2CM pavers on special pedestal mounts. This is most often seen in rooftop applications as it allows ease of installation, exceptional drainage and the ability to hide elements such as electrical wires and plumbing.
